4. What do you want us to do differently tomorrow? When we enter a bus, when we talk to our gateman, what should we carry from Sonder into real life?

I think the biggest thing to carry from Sonder is awareness.

To remember that every person you encounter has a whole life beyond the small part of them that you get to see. They have their own fears, hopes, experiences and things they’re carrying.

So maybe tomorrow, just pay a little more attention to people. Be a little more patient, a little more kind, and a little more curious.

You don’t have to know someone’s story to remember that they have one.

@abdulrahman-sarkin-pawa this is such a nice take-home ngl

Be a little more patient cause we seem to always be in a haste

@thebookpolitics

Absolutely. The average person is always in a haste to get somewhere, to do something, or just to leave a place.

And I think sometimes we’re so focused on getting to the next thing that we forget to actually be present where we are. Being a little more patient gives us room to notice people, to listen properly, and to realise that not everything has to happen immediately.

Maybe that’s another part of what Sonder asks of us: slow down enough to actually see each other.

@abdulrahman-sarkin-pawa So trueeee. We are always looking forward to the next thing without giving much thought to the present. I picture it as humans running in a hamster wheel. Endlessly running this rat race life we chose to live. JazakAllahu Khairan for sharing, Abdulrahman!

Sooooo insightful.💐
