Book: LOST TO PURPOSEFUL:

HOW DO YOU FIND YOUR WAY?

Self-Discovery, Purpose, Winning & the Obstacles Along the Way

Welcome, book lovers 💛 and book makers!

On today’s Booki Chat, we’re talking about something many people experience but don’t always know how to put into words, feeling lost.

Have you ever wondered:

“What am I really meant to do?”

“Why do I feel stuck?”

“How do I know I’m on the right path?”

Today, we’ll hear from the author who explores these questions in her book, From Lost to Purposeful.

We have with us Deborah Ifedolapo M.
Moving from feeling lost to living purposefully isn't always a straight path. It involves discovering yourself, understanding your purpose, recognising the treasures within you, and overcoming the obstacles that can stand in your way.

So, how do you make that journey?

How do you begin discovering yourself when you feel lost?

How do you identify and pursue your purpose?

What are the “winning treasures” we often overlook within ourselves?

What obstacles can keep us from becoming purposeful?

And what does it really mean to move from being lost to becoming purposeful?

Deborah, welcome to Booki Chat! 💛

@yomijanet

For the first question, you begin to discover yourself when you feel lost by doing a self check, which is, how you spend your time, what do you give attention to mostly, what are things that you spend time listening to, what are the things that you feed your mind either, and who are the people that you surround yourself with.

These can help you call yourself back to order and move on the right track again.

  1. @debbie-ifedolapo  Talking about finding your right.
What inspired you to write From Lost to Purposeful, and what does “being lost” mean to you, how do you find your track when you are lost.

@yomijanet Ohk.. I'm just seeing this now. So what actually inspired me to write this book is that, many young minds have been struggling to make something meaningful out of life. They try to ring purpose in others success, people's validations about them and the media influence. Forgetting that purpose doesn't come from looking outside but from looking within you.

So my desire is to see people stop being lost out there in the world by trying to measure other success with where they are, which only make them end up frustrated, searching outside for what is already deposited within them.

That's why I wrote this book. And it's for those who know that there's more within them, but haven't fully discovered it yet or don't know how to discover it.

My definition of being lost is not when you're missing, but when you're missing outside from your purpose, you're missing out in from where God wants you to be in maxing purpose and bringing out the winning treasures hidden inside of you.

I

You identify purpose by finding out what you carry inside of you, your potentials, and begin to develop it. This happens by knowing God himself the on who created you for a purpose. He only can give you the blueprint of your identity because He is your creator and He has the full script of what you're meant to become here on earth fully written in His hand

@debbie-ifedolapo That’s a beautiful way to look at purpose, Deborah.

You mentioned that knowing God helps us understand the blueprint of who we are.

For someone who feels like they’ve wasted time or gone off track, is it ever too late to discover and pursue their purpose? Why?

@yomijanet No, it's never too late if you can genuinely go back to God to help you find yourself again. And settle down with yourself by giving attention to meditation.

Think deeply on what you carry inside of you, look at those things people jokingly talk about that you do a lot, look at what keeps you up and active to a point that you forget food, and ask God to help you make meaning out of it. Tell Him in words and prayers that you're ready to walk in purpose. It may be late, but it is better to be late than to never show up or end up in walking in purpose.

@yomijanet You pursue purpose by developing yourself after knowing who you really are (your identity)

What you love doing (your true self)
What you're good at (your strength)
Where you need help (your weakness)
Pay attention to study on these areas mentioned, read books, work on yourself, learn from people who have gone ahead of you in that area of purpose you are working towards, and keep practicing what you learnt. That's the way you develop yourself.

@debbie-ifedolapo I love how you broke that down.  Knowing your identity is one thing, but intentionally developing what you carry is another.

@yomijanet The winning treasures we often overlook are the priceless things God has deposited inside of us that we are yet to maximise.

Your Talents/Gifts: Your inner abilities, that is, things that you do naturally and enjoy doing often are your talent/gifts. For example, you naturally love singing, writing or playing piano.

Your Passion, what you're so passionate about, it's a pointer to what God has placed inside of you.

Your values, these are things that you are known for, what people define you to be.

Your visions, This is, simply, the light you were called to manifest and sent to do. Vision can come in the form of a dream, revelation from scriptures, or through a voice or a burden placed in your mind, who is, the Holy Spiri

@debbie-ifedolapo  Huum. So there are always great treasures in us that are ought to be seen. So sometimes it's not the purpose it'self because it always in you but the main thing is, can you even see it🤔

@ola

Yess.

To see it is the main thing, because until you see it, you cannot walk in it.

Just like the word of God says, it said as far as your eyes can see, so will I give unto you.

That means you have to see it to actualise it.

@yomijanet

The obstacles that can keep us from becoming purposeful are:

Fear, it is a silent torment on its own.

Self doubt

Wrong influences/ environment

Self comparison

Lack of taking responsibility

Lack of direction, among others.

@yomijanet And lastly,

To move from lost to Purposeful means to clearly discover yourself,  have a good understanding of your identity, work on developing yourself which is your identity that relates with the core areas of your purpose, break limiting obstacles that hinders you from fulfilling purpose and begin to live a life of meaning and true relevance,the kind of life that you were created to live on earth in grand style.

This is what it truly means to move from Lost to Purposeful.
