REVIEW WARS: Personal Taste Or Real Critique

Most of us read books because of reviews. We attach so much value to review for it to be something someone can just drop due to personal preference.

I’ve read countless books with bad reviews and loved some of them. I’ve also ready books with marvelous reviews and didnt really feel them.
• What do you think should be the yardstick for reviews?
• Do you think an author/ reader can figure out when your review is purely out of personal taste?
