I finished Things Fall Apart and the gist has always hooked me.🤧🤧
Na so I like gist.
Everyone calls Okonkwo strong, but the way he died... was that courage or was that cowardice? In Chapter 24, Okonkwo hangs himself. In Igbo land, that’s an abomination.
Through the whole book we see him fight to avoid his father’s “weakness”. But at the end, fear of weakness made him do the one thing considered most weak.
Questions for us:
1. Did colonialism break him, or did his own pride break him?
2. If he stayed and fought with his people, would that be more courageous?
3. Was there any other option for him?
Let's analyze. No spoilers outside TFA pls.
